John Palmer – OWL building control solutions

John has worked in Building Control for over a decade.

He has experience both in Local Authority and Private (Approved Inspectors / Registered Building Control Approvers) Building Control.

John is the Managing Director of OWL Building Control Solutions.

He took the lead to enable registration of OWL BCS as a Registered Building Control Approver & our staff as Registered Building Inspectors.

Sitting on a number of professional boards and organisations to provide insights relating to the Building Control Profession – including:

• Executive Panel of the Association of Building Control Approvers (ABCA)
• Leadersip Committee for the Construction Industry Council (CIC)
• Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE) Expert Panel

John is a panel assessor for the registration of Registered Building Inspectors via the Building Control Competency Assessment (BCCA).

John is co-authoring a publication on behalf of the Institute of Civil Engineers (ICE) relating to the changes imposed by the Building Safety Act (2022)

He provides internal and external CPD to a range of audiences regarding regulatory requirements – most notably the ‘CABE Approved’ CPD relating to the ‘Duty-Holder Regime’
