Online or in person – What do you think?

CPD Essentials delivers both in-person and online CPD events. At a recent online event attended by over 100 delegates, a poll revealed an even 50/50 preference between online and face-to-face learning. While online events are undoubtedly flexible and cost-effective, many of the key benefits of in-person events are reduced or lost entirely.

Networking
Digital platforms lack the informal breaks that encourage valuable conversations, idea sharing, and reconnecting with colleagues not seen since the previous year. Prolonged screen-based interaction can also contribute to social isolation and mental health challenges, whereas attending a live event offers a welcome change of environment. Many strong professional relationships and collaborations are formed through face-to-face networking.

Speaker Interaction
Although webinars allow for Q&A sessions, they cannot match the level of engagement available at in-person events. Delegates can approach speakers during breaks for further clarification or one-to-one discussions. New ownership at CPD essentials!

After many wonderful years running CPD Essentials, Alison has decided it’s time to hang up her boots and enjoy a well-earned break. It’s the end of an era, but also the beginning of a new and exciting chapter.

From the very start, Alison has poured her energy, knowledge, and heart into CPD Essentials, creating something special that’s helped so many surveyors keep up with their continuing professional development. From in-person CPD training days to live webinars tailored to the needs of property professionals, Alison made it easy for surveyors to stay compliant, confident, and up to date.

It’s been a one-woman show, planning CPD events, curating expert speakers, and managing all the logistics, and now she’s passing it all on to someone who knows the business inside and out: her daughter, Megan.

Megan has been part of the journey behind the scenes for a little while now, and she’s now stepping forward to take the lead. She’ll be continuing everything you’ve come to expect from CPD Essentials, including in-person CPD events for surveyors, online CPD webinars, and that same friendly, personal approach that’s been there from the start.

“It means a lot to be taking this on from Mum,” says Megan. “She’s built something really valuable, and I’m proud to keep it going. I’m looking forward to bringing my own ideas to the mix, but keeping the same straightforward, high-quality and affordable CPD that surveyors know and appreciate.”

Alison is now stepping away fully, but her influence and hard work will always be part of CPD Essentials. Megan is excited (and just a little nervous!) to take on the challenge, and she’s grateful for your continued support as she finds her feet.

Is there good news ahead for Residential Property Surveyors?

Some sources claim that UK property sales are ‘down an average of 25% since the increases in interest rates and that further increases could reduce demand.

However it is also claimed that approvals for mortgages rose in February and that demand for property may be back on the rise.

 

Bank of England figures showed that home loan approvals rose from 39,647 in January to 43,536 in February – reversing a downward trend in place since August 2022.

 

The question is – will levels return to those seen during the pandemic?
